Welcome to Central Middle

Welcome to our website:

Our entire staff is enjoying and working to improve all we do during the 2017-2018 school year at Central Middle School, Coosa County. Students and parents have adapted to our changes in procedures and our students have been relatively well-behaved and becoming accustomed to new schedules and teachers. We have high expectations for all our students in academics, athletics, arts, and behavior and strive to produce good citizens that will become excellent high school students when they leave our halls. We hope to work together with Central Elementary and Central High to produce college and career-ready young people prepared to compete in a rapidly changing workforce.

Following are some brief informational items for you to be aware of:

·         CMS bell schedule was changed slightly this year. Students are late to school if they are not in class at 7:25 a.m. Any student arriving after 7:25 must report to the main office to check in.

·         Attendance will be monitored very closely this year. Parents are required by Alabama law to have children in school each day, or provide a valid reason for why they are not in school. Students who are frequently absent or tardy will often experience a lack of success in school. Even the best of teachers cannot educate children who are not present in class. Students may not be allowed to participate in field trips or other extracurricular activities if they have excessive unexcused absences or tardies.
